Travelling to SIP 2027
at UBC Vancouver

The 4th International Conference on Sustainable Innovations and Partnerships (SIP 2027) will be held at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Nest Catering & Conferences, Vancouver, Canada.

Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel, accommodation, visa documentation, insurance, local transportation, and personal expenses.

Venue address: University of British Columbia (UBC), Nest Catering & Conferences, 6133 University Blvd, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z1, Canada.

Arriving by Air

The nearest major airport is Vancouver International Airport (YVR). YVR serves domestic, U.S., and international flights and is connected to Metro Vancouver through public transportation, taxis, ride-share services, and private transfer options.

Participants arriving at YVR should allow sufficient time for immigration, baggage collection, transportation to UBC, and hotel check-in.

Public Transportation to UBC

Vancouver public transportation is operated by TransLink and includes SkyTrain, buses, SeaBus, and other regional transit services. UBC is a major bus destination in Vancouver.

From Vancouver International Airport, participants may use the Canada Line SkyTrain and transfer to a UBC-bound bus route. Common routes may involve travelling from YVR to a Vancouver transfer station and then taking a bus toward UBC.

  • Canada Line: Connects YVR Airport with Vancouver and Richmond.
  • Bus connections to UBC: UBC is served by multiple bus routes from major transit corridors.
  • Travel planning: Participants should check the TransLink Trip Planner before travel because schedules and routes may change.
  • Estimated travel time: Public transit from YVR to UBC commonly takes about 60–90 minutes, depending on route, traffic, transfer time, and time of day.

Taxi, Ride-Share, and Private Transfer

Taxi and ride-share services are widely available from Vancouver International Airport and throughout Vancouver. This option may be more convenient for participants carrying luggage or arriving late.

  • Use official airport pickup areas for taxis and ride-share services.
  • Confirm the destination as UBC Nest Catering & Conferences, 6133 University Blvd.
  • Travel time from YVR to UBC may vary depending on traffic and weather conditions.
  • Participants should confirm fares directly with the taxi, ride-share, or private transfer provider.

Driving and Parking

Participants who plan to drive should check UBC parking information before arrival. Parking availability, location, payment method, and rates may vary depending on the day, time, and campus activity.

  • Use the venue address for navigation: 6133 University Blvd, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z1, Canada.
  • Allow extra time for campus navigation, parking, and walking to the venue.
  • Review UBC parking rules and payment instructions before arrival.
  • SIP 2027 does not provide guaranteed parking unless announced separately.

Travel Documents and Canada Entry Requirements

International participants should check Canada entry requirements before making travel plans. Depending on nationality and travel route, participants may require a Temporary Resident Visa, visitor visa, or Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).

SIP 2027 may provide invitation letters and related conference documentation to eligible registered participants after payment verification. However, an invitation letter is not a visa approval or entry guarantee.

  • Check whether a visa or eTA is required before booking travel.
  • Apply early and allow enough time for visa or eTA processing.
  • Ensure that passport validity meets travel and immigration requirements.
  • Carry conference registration confirmation and invitation letter, if applicable.
  • Confirm all travel rules using official Government of Canada sources.

Accommodation Planning

Accommodation is not included in the SIP 2027 registration fee. Participants should book hotels, guest rooms, or campus accommodation independently and early.

Participants may consider on-campus UBC accommodation or nearby hotels, subject to availability and direct booking conditions.

Travel Safety and Practical Preparation

  • Keep digital and printed copies of travel documents, registration confirmation, passport, visa, and accommodation details.
  • Check weather conditions in Vancouver before departure.
  • Allow enough time for airport procedures, transit transfers, and campus navigation.
  • Purchase travel insurance if needed.
  • Use official airport, transit, hotel, and government websites for final travel decisions.
Travel responsibility: SIP 2027 does not arrange participant flights, hotel bookings, visa processing, travel insurance, airport transfers, or local transportation. Participants must confirm all travel arrangements directly with the relevant service providers.
