Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

SIP 2027 is committed to providing a professional, respectful, inclusive, and harassment-free conference environment for all participants, regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, nationality, or technology choice. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, and other inappropriate conduct are not tolerated.

All participants, including authors, attendees, speakers, organizers, sponsors, exhibitors, contractors, volunteers, and staff, are expected to conduct themselves professionally. Participants should treat others with respect and consideration, allow reasonable differences of opinion, follow conference and venue requirements, and refrain from harassment, discrimination, intimidation, disruption, or other conduct that interferes with the safe and professional operation of SIP 2027.

Unacceptable behavior includes intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, threatening, disruptive, derogatory, or demeaning conduct directed toward conference participants, organizers, venue personnel, sponsors, service providers, or other persons involved in conference-related activities.

Unacceptable conduct also includes intentional impersonation or identity misuse; knowingly providing materially false registration, authorship, payment, or verification information; unauthorized alteration, fabrication, sale, transfer, or misuse of a SIP 2027 invitation letter, acceptance letter, certificate, receipt, verification record, or other conference-issued document; and knowingly false or materially misleading payment-dispute or chargeback representations. A good-faith complaint, refund request, billing inquiry, or lawful payment dispute is not, by itself, a violation of this Code.

Participants who experience or witness conduct that may violate this Code, or who have another significant conference-related concern, should contact a member of the SIP 2027 staff or the Conference Secretariat as soon as reasonably practicable. Reports will be handled as discreetly as reasonably possible, and information will be shared only where reasonably necessary to review the matter, protect participants or third parties, administer the conference, or comply with applicable legal obligations.

SIP 2027 may take appropriate and proportionate administrative action in response to substantiated violations of this Code. Depending on the nature and seriousness of the conduct, action may include a warning, restriction of conference activities, suspension, removal from the conference, cancellation of participation, revocation of conference privileges, or restriction of future participation. Any refund question will be governed by the Refund & Cancellation Policy and applicable law.

For substantiated fraud, identity misuse, intentional payment abuse, or unauthorized alteration or misuse of conference-issued documents, SIP 2027 may also revoke or invalidate affected documents and preserve or provide relevant evidence to payment providers, financial institutions, affected institutions, professional advisers, or competent authorities where reasonably necessary and permitted or required by law. Where a neutral public verification notice is reasonably necessary to identify a revoked, invalid, materially altered, or fraudulently used conference-issued document, and such disclosure is permitted by applicable law, the notice will be limited to verified facts and the minimum identifying information reasonably necessary. SIP 2027 will not publish an accusation merely because a person submitted a good-faith complaint, refund request, or lawful payment dispute.

A participant who believes that they have been falsely or unfairly accused of violating this Code of Conduct may submit a written grievance to the Conference Secretariat describing the relevant facts and, where available, providing supporting information. SIP 2027 will review the grievance in good faith and may request additional information before making or reconsidering an administrative decision.

This Code of Conduct applies to all SIP 2027 participants, including speakers, authors, attendees, volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors, contractors, organizers, and staff, at conference venues, online or hybrid conference platforms, and during official conference-related meetings, communications, activities, workshops, networking sessions, and social events.

To report a concern, submit a grievance, or ask a question regarding this Code of Conduct, please contact the SIP 2027 Conference Secretariat at support@sip2027.org. Please provide sufficient information to identify and evaluate the matter, but do not send unnecessary sensitive personal, payment-card, password, or banking information by email.

SIP 2027 may revise this Code of Conduct when reasonably necessary to reflect conference operations, safety requirements, policy changes, or applicable legal obligations. The current version will be published on the SIP 2027 website. Material changes will apply prospectively except where immediate application is reasonably necessary for safety, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or protection of conference participants or third parties.
